Maintaining the security of information and communication technology (ICT) networks needs close collaboration between governments and industry. And because attacks do not respect national borders, efforts are required on an international scale. In the Arab States, the issue was examined at an ITU Regional Workshop on Frameworks for Cybersecurity and Critical Information Infrastructure Protection (CIIP) that took place in Doha, Qatar, on 18-21 February 2008. The event was held in collaboration with the Qatar Supreme Council of Information and Communication Technology (ictQATAR) and the Qatar Centre for Information Security (Q-CERT).
