In the course of investigating and analyzing accidents in shopping centers, studies have been made of pedestrian and/ or vehicular traffic in building front roadways. These roads have been correctly described by Gern, Kenig' and Alroth as the most critical area of vehicular-pedestrian conflict in a shopping center.1"3 Surprisingly, little if any material from studies of these roadways has been published. The purpose of this paper is to present data on vehicular and pedestrian volumes found, conflicts seen, and obedience to stop signs along such routes.
