The ITE Annual Meeting and Exhibit in St. Louis featured a plenary session of organization leaders who are successful leading their organizations in these challenging times. The participants were Peter McCombs, chairman of the board, Traffic Design Group Ltd. (TDG) in New Zealand; John Kennedy, senior principal with Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc, (VHB) in Massachusetts; Michael Sanderson, president and CEO of Sanderson Stewart in Montana; and Michael Cline, commissioner of the Indiana Department of Transportation (InDOT). I had the privilege to be the moderator of this session, and here are the thoughts I took away from the session.
