This recommended practice provides guidelines for the design and application of speed humps and speed tables, defined as a roadway geometric design feature whose primary purpose is to reduce the speed of vehicles traveling along a roadway. The experiences of various agencies currently implementing speed humps and speed tables across North America are documented, along with findings from published research work. The order of information provided in this report follows the order of the recommended speed hump/speed table process.
