This recommended practice provides guidelines for the design and application of speed humps and speed tables, defined as a roadway geometric design feature whose primary purpose is to reduce the speed of vehicles traveling along a roadway. The experiences of various agencies currently implementing speed humps and speed tables across North America are documented, along with findings from published research work.
