As I reflect upon this past year, I am struck by what a privilege and an honor it has been to serve as International President. It has indeed been a year on die move, for me personally, and for ITE. I've been from Washington, DC to Orlando, Florida; from West Lafayette, Indiana to Lafayette, Louisiana; from Fairbanks, Alaska to St. Petersburg, Florida; to Berlin, Germany, and several points in between. At each and every meeting, I've been struck by the willingness of our members to make a difference in the practice of transportation science. I've learned and learned and learned (and many of you thought it wasn't possible!). Please take pride in what you do: It truly is making a difference in the quality of life in communities around the world. The Institute is on the move too. This year, the staff and the board have worked together to prioritize and implement initiatives to serve our members based on our strategic plan.
