This paper establishes that vehicle speeds and crashes at modern roundabouts in the United States are related to driver sight distance. The study yielded nine models that utilized sight distance to predict vehicle speeds and crashes at modern roundabouts in the United States. Six of these developed models indicate that sight distance is a statistically significant predictor of 85th percentile approach speeds, 85th percentile entrance speed, and the difference between the 85 th percentile approach speed and the 85th percentile entrance speeds.
