A new laser-based system for foreign object debris (FOD) detection was introduced at the AAAE Conference & Exhibition in Reno on 19-22 May. The vehicle-mounted Laser FOD (LFOD) is manufactured by Pavemetrics Systems Inc of Quebec, Canada.According to CEO Richard Ha-bel, the system uses high-speed cameras, custom optics and laser line projectors to acquire two-dimensional (2-D) images and high-resolution three-dimensional (3-D) profiles of airport runways, taxiways and apron areas. Blastwall shows frangible fences Blastwall Ltd presented its patented fibreglass blast deflector fence at the AAAE Conference & Exhibition in Reno and reported on new installations.Peter Roston, president of Blastwall Ltd, told IHS Jane's that installation of the product has begun at Oslo Gardermoen in Norway, and a replacement project is underway at Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji in India.
