Ireland's Dublin Airport is piloting automated border clearance (ABC) gates for arriving passengers.To date up to 1,000 travellers a day are passing through the e-gates, which take at least 7.S seconds to process a passenger.The gates were installed by the Dublin Airport Authority and the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service (INIS). They will remain in place until October 2013.The iBorders biometric ABC solution from SETA uses gates provided by Kaba and NeoFace facial-recognition technology from NEC to verify passenger identity. Facial data captured at the gate is checked against the biometric information contained on the individual's passport, and run against border agency checklists.
