The Royal Canadian Navy's (RCN's) interim support ship, MV Asterix, has completed trials, been formally accepted by the Department of National Defence, and has entered operational service with the RCN. Asterix conducted a period of sea trials that included replenishment at sea and aviation operations with Royal Canadian Air Force CAH-148 Cyclone helicopters. The Project Resolve vessel will support the RCN until two future Protecteur-class Joint Support Ship (JSS) vessels are delivered in the early 2020s.
