President-elect Donald Trump on 19 December announced plans to nominate Vincent Viola, a West Point graduate and billionaire businessman, to become secretary of the US Army. Viola graduated from the US Military Academy (known as West Point) in 1977 - and served as an officer in the 101st Airborne Division - and graduated from New York Law School in 1983. Viola helped found the Combating Terrorism Center at West Point and has founded several companies, is executive chairman of Virtu Financial Inc, and owns the Florida Panthers Hockev Ciub.
