The Jordanian military has remounted 20 mm rotary cannons taken from Vulcan Air Defense Systems (VADS) on Cougar mine-resistant ambush-protected vehicles (MRAPs), it was revealed during a rare media visit to the kingdom's border with Syria on 14 March. The M163 VADS consists of the 20 mm M168 cannon and a range-finding radar mounted in an open turret on an M113 tracked armoured personnel carrier, enabling it to keep up with armoured formations.
