Spain's state holding company has called on the government to approve the voluntarily dissolu-tion of national defence export marketing body Defex, which has been under investigation by the high court over commis-sions paid out on weapon sales to Angola almost a decade ago. The Sociedad Estatal de Par-ticipaciones Industrials (SEPI) agreed at a meeting on 28 April to seek permission from the cabinet to wind up the board of Defex, in which it holds a major-ity 51% stake, the rest being held by the private sector.
