British Army commanders and defence officials are developing plans that could see the UK's attack helicopter force relocate from East Anglia to a new base closer to the army's main Salisbury Plain training area. Plans to downsize the number of airfields used by the force are being worked on as part of UK Joint Helicopter Command's (JHC's) basing review, which was ordered by Defence Secretary Sir Michael Fallon in a bid to reduce the operating costs of the battlefield helicopters operated by the Army Air Corps (AAC), Royal Air Force (RAF) and Fleet Air Arm.
