The Spanish Ministry of Defence says it aims to extend the use of Los Llanos near Albacete for NATO's Tactical Leadership Program (TLP) for another 10 years to 2029. This "would permit investments in security to be carried out", the ministry stated. However, the ministry declined on 19 June to comment on whether the investments are directly linked with an accident that occurred there in January 2015 when a Greek Air Force Lockheed Martin F-16 crashed into a hangar when just after take-off, kilting both occupants and nine French personnel on the ground.
