Royal Australian Navy (RAN) guided-missile frigate HMAS Newcastle has become the first of its class to deploy on operations with a Sikorsky MH-60R Seahawk helicopter and an Insitu ScanEagle unmanned aerial system (UAS). The Adelaide-class vessel has been deployed to Operation 'Manitou' - the Australian government's contribution to the international effort to promote maritime security, stability, and prosperity in the Middle East Region - to relieve Anzac-class frigate HMAS Arunta, according to a 26 June news release by the RAN.
