Leonardo is waiting on the South Korean government to issue requests for proposals (RFPs) for three key rotary-wing requirements and a contract decision on a fourth as it looks to expand its presence in the country. Speaking to Jane's at ADEX 2017, Leonardo officials said that RFPs are expected for a further batch of maritime anti-submarine warfare (ASW) helicopters under the MRH programme, for a counter-mine helicopter under the Airborne Mine Counter-Measures (AMCM) programme, and for a Lynx Mk99 upgrade effort. Further to these three pending requirements, the company is expecting a contract decision on the THX helicopter trainer requirement for which it has been shortlisted.
