Saab is entering into a 'strategic partnership' with Swiss company UMS Aero Group for the further development, manufacture, testing, training, and maintenance of its Skeldar rotary-wing unmanned aircraft system (UAS), the company announced on 21. December. Saab is to transfer all of its Skeldar-related assets into the new UMS Skeldar joint venture (JV) and will be the junior partner with a 47% holding. UMS Skeldar's operations will involve approximately 55 employees, with the head office being located in Moehlin, Switzerland, and an office also established in Linkoeping, Sweden.
