Airbus has reached an agreement to sell its defence electronics business to KKR, the company announced on 18 March. The deal is for EUR 1.1 billion (USD1.2 billion) and moves the defence electronics business into the hands of a Germany-based investment company. It is expected to close in the first quarter of fiscal year 2017. Airbus said in a press release that it may retain a minority stake in the defence electronics group, but that the total value placed on the business by KKR was EUR1.1 billion. The business has around 4,000 employees with about EUR1 billion in annual revenue.
