The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) commitment to the African Capability for Immediate Response to Crises (ACIRC) has been detailed in a 11 March parliamentary briefing document that has entered the public domain. The ACIRC is envisaged as an interim African intervention force that will stabilise a situation for 90 days, after which an African Union or UN force would be deployed to take over.
