Turkey's Aselsan and Malaysian company K Defensetech signed an agreement on 20 April to set up a joint venture (JV) to produce remote-controlled weapon stations (RCWSs) in Malaysia. Under the terms of the memorandum of agreement (MoA) - signed at DSA 2016 - the two firms will commence discussions to establish a company that will receive technologies from Aselsan to manufacture various RCWS systems, including those in the 12.7 mm, 25 mm, and 30 mm configurations. The scope of the investment will be the subject of negotiation through the MoA.
