The US Army has delayed its fixed-wing utility aircraft (FUA) procurement programme, with a request for proposals (RfP) now expected in early 2017. The delay, which was announced on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website on 30 September, shifts the RfP release to the first quarter of 2017 rather than the originally scheduled date of November 2015. No reasons for this slip were disclosed, but the revised timeline now suggests an in-service date of about 2019.
