摘要

South Korea's partly state-owned naval shipbuilder, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME), has outlined a programme to sell off some of its non-core assets: a move that is linked to a potential sale of the corporation in the foreseeable future. In a statement on 14 January DSME said it is planning to sell its wholly owned subsidiary FLC, a golf course operator, in line with a strategy to streamline its core business activities. DSME, which specialises in naval/commercial shipbuilding and offshore engineering, did not elaborate on the strategy or on the scope of its plan to sell off non-core assets. DMSE operates scores of affiliates, with several involved in retailing, hotels and other similar business activities. DSME was established in 1973 as a commercial shipbuilder in the Opko Dockyard in the south of South Korea.
