Serbia published a new draft law on the defence industry and trade of military equipment on 6 March, which includes changes that could allow foreign companies to hold majority stakes in local defence groups. The law stipulates that if a company is privately held by a foreign group the Serbian government will have the right to a controlling stake if a sale of the company could endanger "strategic interest of the national security" of the country. The draft law was presented for public debate at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.
