Vietnam's Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (SBIC) - formerly the Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Group (Vinashin) - has signed an agreement with the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) to support the company's partial listing in the near future, SBIC announced on 21 April. Under the terms of the memorandum of understanding (MoU), HNX will also assist in the continuing restructuring of the state-owned shipbuilder. This follows an announcement by the Vietnamese government earlier this month that it was looking to accelerate the streamlining of the company to improve productivity.
