MBDA unveiled the CVW102 FlexiS air-launched missile, its latest concept for future missile systems, at the Paris Air Show 2015 on 15 June. FlexiS is conceived as being completely modular, with the all-up round only being assembled once the specific mission parameters have been set. The company's aim with the concept is to deliver a step change in air power by maximising operational flexibility and minimising logistical burdens. The missile is now the sixth of MBDA's concept vision series, which it began at the 2010 Farn-borough International Airshow with the Enforcer concept. The company uses the concept vision format in a similar way to how the automotive industry unveils concept cars: to demonstrate innovative designs and challenge its engineers.
