NATO and the EU are stepping up their consultations to deal with the security threats now facing Europe, especially those stemming from Russia's increasingly aggressive stance, said the leaders of the two organisations on 16 June. The move coincides with a damning new report by the Atlantic Council that claims "irrefutable evidence of direct Russian military involvement" in eastern Ukraine.
