The US Army is to modify a number of Quick Reaction Capability (QRC) special-mission aircraft to the Enhanced Medium Altitude Reconnaissance and Surveillance System (EMARSS) standard, according to a solicitation issued on the Federal Business Opportunities website in late June. The proposed modification contract, to be offered to L-3 Communications in Greenville, Texas, covers 13 government-owned QRC platforms, comprising Liberty Project Aircraft (LPA), Constant Hawk-Afghanistan (CH-A) aircraft, and Tactical Operations-Light Detection and Ranging (TACOP-LiDAR) aircraft.
