Indonesia's defence industry has been urged to enhance capabilities through foreign partnerships in order to gain access to military technologies under the country's evolving defence offset policy. Citing Secretary General of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) Lieutenant General Prabowo Ediwan, the MoD said on 11 August that the domestic defence industry needs to develop strong partnerships with foreign companies to ensure that "local content" is maximised in all defence procurement programmes.
