South Korea's Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) has confirmed that it has been prohibited from accessing some of the technologies requested through a defence offset programme linked to the country's purchase of Lockheed Martin F-35 Joint Strike Fighters. DAPA said in statements that the technologies, which were to be channelled into South Korea's development of its Korean Fighter Experimental (KFX) aircraft, had been denied approval for transfer to South Korea under the US government's export control regime.
