The US Air Force (USAF) plans to stretch funding received this year to finally kick off a Combat Rescue Helicopter (CRH) programme with a possible contract for Sikorsky UH-60M Black Hawks signed before July 2014. Congress appropriated USD 334 million in fiscal year 2014 (FY 2014) for the project and that can fund it for FY 2014 and FY 2015, but the USAF will have to find money from other programmes in order to fund the CRH in the remainder of the five-year budget plan, from FY 2016-19, an air force spokesman told IHS Jane's.
