The Canadian government has issued new guidance on procurement programmes as it continues to reform defence procurement. Defence Acquisition Guide (DAG), which identifies future potential Canadian Armed Forces requirements and associated procurement projects over the next 20 years, was released on 16 June as part of reforms to increase industry engagement in the defence procurement process. "The Defence Acquisition Guide will ensure that industry and potential procurement bidders are aware of the government's long-term investment areas," said Minister of National Defence Rob Nicholson. "With the release of this document, our government is responding to the needs of private industry by engaging early on matters of procurement."
