South Korea's military procurement agency, the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA), is considering terminating a contract with BAE Systems to upgrade the Republic of Korea Air Force's (RoKAF's) fleet of 134 Lockheed Martin F-16 Block 50/52 fighter aircraft, DAPA spokesman Baek Yoon-hyung told IHS Jane's on 31 October. Baek said the move is a response to an KRW800 billion (USD760 million) price increase in a deal agreed between DAPA, BAE Systems, and the US government in 2012. The USD760 million hike has been described as a "risk reserve" to offset changes to the upgrades.
