Insurgents in the Central African Republic (CAR) have seized a series of towns since the beginning of December, including Bria: an important hub for the country's diamond industry.Insurgents affiliated to Seleka - a coalition of three rebel groups - seized the garrison town of Bria following a brief fight with government forces. The town's mayor, Moussa Gounman, told the Associated Press that the insurgents entered the town early on the morning of 18 December and took control of the local military base.
