The Netherlands Ministry of Defence (MoD) has decided to ground its two Lockheed Martin F-35A Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter initial operational test and evaluation (IOT&E) aircraft. The country's defence minister, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, told parliament on 4 April the grounding will last "until a decision has been made on the replacement of the [Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF)] F-16".
