NATO is reviewing a Libyan request for advice and training of its defence and security personnel, according to NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen. "Last week the Libyan government requested NATO's advice in the security field," Rasmussen told reporters on 4 June. A delegation of NATO experts will travel to Tripoli soon to identify the areas "where the Libyans think they would need our advice and where NATO can offer value-added [assistance]", he said. The team will report back to the alliance by the end of June.
