US Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel called out China for its cyber-hacking of US military secrets at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore on 1 June. While Hagel used the majority of his keynote address at the annual Asia-Pacific defence and security forum to flesh out the details of the United States' rebalance of its military assets to Asia, he also said that it was time for countries to agree on "common rules of the road in new domains".
