Samsung Techwin has won a KRW246 billion (USD217 million) deal to assemble engines for the Korean Aerospace Industries (KAI) FA-50 light attack fighter that will enter service with the Republic of Korea Air Force. According to a filing on the Korea Exchange, Samsung Techwin will supply an unspeci- fied number of engines to South Korea's Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) by 15 September 2016. The FA-50 is a light attack version of the T-50 Golden Eagle lead-in fighter trainer and includes an Elta Systems EL/M-2032 radar and Link 16 datalink.
