The contract awarded to Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems to make two AN/ TPY-2 radars for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been expanded to include software updates, the US Department of Defense (DoD) said on 17 July. The original USD583 million contract for two AN/TPY-2 radars to support the UAE's Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) ballistic missile interception systems was awarded in December 2011. The DoD said the software updates, contractor support, and other services had increased the contract's value by USD84 million, but not the September 2018 completion date.
