China's Poly Technologies defence export and import enterprise is looking to be a 'whole system' supplier of military equipment and weapon systems to foreign customers, and wants to offer 'one-stop shopping' to set itself apart from other Chinese state-run defence exporters, representatives told IHS Jane's at Beijing's World Radar Fair in late October. A number of nations have been looking to China to modernise their air-defence capabilities and Chinese industry recently scored an important win when China Precision Machinery Import & Export Corporation (CPMIEC) beat European, Russian, and US firms to supply Turkey with the HQ-9 air- and missile-defence system, sold as the FT-2000 in its export configuration.
