Saudi Arabia has confirmed it allowed naval vessels from archrival Iran to dock at its Red Sea port of Jiddah in February.The visit by the corvette Naghdi and supply ship Kharg was first revealed on 4 February, when Iranian media organisations cited Iranian Navy commander Admiral Habibollah Sayyari as saying the ships had docked in Jiddah as part of a demonstration of the Islamic Republic's maritime power.The two ships then made their way, via the Suez Canal, to the Syrian port of Tartus in what was the Iranian navy's second Mediterranean expedition since the 1979 Revolution.
