The head of US Northern Command (NORTHCOM) and North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) is comfortable with his air assets, but is eager to receive new fighters and a response capability against low and slow airborne threats.US Army General Charles Jacoby, chief of NORTHCOM and NORAD, told the Senate Armed Services Committee during a 13 March hearing that he did not expect his commands' readiness to suffer due to delays in fielding the F-3S Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) and cutbacks in the Air National Guard (ANG).
