Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) subsidiary AMSEC is positioning itself to take advantage of the US military's growing focus on the Pacific by establishing a permanent presence at Subic Bay in the Philippines. AMSEC signed a deal on 18 April with Korean shipbuilder Hanjin Heavy Industries & Construction (HHIC) under which it hopes to provide maintenance, repair and logistics services to the US Navy in the western Pacific.
