The Venezuelan government has allocated USD156 million for the acquisition of surface-to-air missile (SAM) simulation and training infrastructure, Venezuela's Minister of Defence and Commander of Strategic Operations, Henry Rangel Silva, announced on 25 April. Specifically, the training would focus on long-range S-300VM (SA-23 'Gladiator') and medium-range Buk-M2E (SA-17 'Grizzly') SAM batteries, which Venezuela plans to buy.
