Spanish state-owned shipbuilder Navantia has signed a repair and modernisation contract for two ships for the Algerian Navy: a deal that could help pave the way to securing future naval business from the North African country. The first ship for repair is due to arrive in September at the company's Ferrol yards, but Navantia said on 26 July it could not reveal the names of the vessels involved or the value of the contract.
