United Technologies Corporation (UTC) has agreed to sell its Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne rocket propulsion unit to rival Gencorp for USD550 million, it was announced on 23 July. The deal - which comes as UTC sheds assets to fund the USD18.4 billion takeover of Goodrich and to assuage the concerns of world regulators - is expected to close in the first half of 2013.
