The Lockheed Martin-Kaman K-MAX unmanned helicopter has had its deployment to Afghanistan extended for the second time this year, and will now remain in theatre until 30 March 2013. Originally due to leave Afghanistan at the beginning of June following a six-month trial period, the K-MAX tour was first extended at the US Marine Corps' (USMC's) request until 30 September.
