Indonesia and the UK are preparing to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on defence collaboration during Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's state visit to the UK in late October. The MoU is likely to be wide-ranging in scope, but is partly intended to boost defence trade links between the two countries. The implementation of the MoU has been delayed by several months and still faces a number of administrative challenges, but officials hope the accord can be finalised during the state visit.
