Iran announced that it had unveiled two light armoured personnel carriers (APCs) - one wheeled and one tracked - during its Sacred Defence Week in late September. Both vehicles have been seen before during an exercise held in January. Previously identified as the Sarir and now referred to as the Talaeiyeh (or Tala'iyyah), the 4x4 wheeled vehicle appears to be a completely new design. However, it is fitted with a turret that appears to be identical to the one used by the Russian BRDM-2 scout car and BTR-60PB 8x8 APC. The road wheels are also similar to those used on these Russian vehicles.
