Czech munitions maker ZVI has announced plans to shut down its two production facilities in Vsetfn and Slavicin and make redundant the majority of its 300-member workforce due to a dramatic drop in sales to the Czech Ministry of Defence (MoD). ZVI had secured a contract to supply 30x173 mm ammunition for the ATK Mk44 Bushmaster II cannon used by the Army of the Czech Republic (ACR) on its fleet of Steyr-Daimler-Puch Pandur II 8x8 infantry fighting vehicles.
